Stages of Writing Development
Here is a guideline for the stages student progress through to achieve writing. Each stage should be valued because it provides specific learning opportunities for the skills the child needs to acquire at that time.

Tentative Dates of Darlene's Visits
On the following dates, I will be meeting with teachers, K-5, as well as the literacy coaches and the principal.
Two of the three days will be spent visiting in the classrooms. One day to coach guided reading and one day to coach Calkins writing workshop.
Prior to these visits, a schedule will be put together by Cherie and Nate.
Teachers will have advanced notice and will be asked to submit their lesson plans prior to any classroom visit.
Teachers are encouraged to prepare for the coaching visit by reflecting on areas of instruction they would like to discuss with the coach. This opportunity is meant to provide teachers a time to collaborate and problem solve with another "pair of eyes."
Visits are not evaluations!
I am looking forward to working with each of you.
